2018
“If there’s one trip that should be on your bucket list, it’s definitely this one. ”
We toured the Peloponnese in June 2018 with George and Teresa from The Road Less Travelled and had an unforgettable and truly unique experience.
We flew to Athens and were picked up the next day by George and Teresa. From that moment on we were able to leave every aspect of our trip in their capable hands. “We just sat back, relaxed and enjoyed the ride”. And what a diverse and unique ride it was; from gorgeous beach side villages to wonderful mystical mountain villages to sophisticated wineries, amazing Monasteries, ancient ruins at every turn and even underground cave tours.
George’s local knowledge and fluent Greek speaking gave us access to many of the Peloponnese’s best kept local secrets and Teresa’s kind and caring planning made each day a delight and each night a lovely surprise with the amazing accommodation she selected.
The locals are beautiful friendly people and every meal was a wonderful mixture of good company, amazing local food, homemade wine and even occasional local musicians.
We enjoyed it so much we have organised our own group of friends and are touring the Peloponnese again with THE ROAD LESS TRAVELLED in September 2019!

“an unforgettable and truly unique experience!”
In September 2018 I joined Teresa & George on their ‘Road Less Travelled’ final tour of the summer. Nothing could have prepared me for the most unforgettable two weeks spent touring Greece with them. Being on tour meant that all the organizing & hard work was done, leaving nothing for me to do but arrive, relax & enjoy!! The scenery we travelled through was breathtaking, following the stunning Peloponese coastline, crossing massive mountain ranges & visiting cute traditional Greek towns along the way. The relaxed pace meant there was plenty of time to stop & explore, do some shopping, have a coffee or drink in the local taverna or go for a swim in those beautiful beaches. We visited many remote historical sites which I found absolutely fascinating. George’s in depth knowledge of Greek history & ability to translate made it all the more interesting. Nothing was too much trouble for Teresa, she made sure that our accommodation was perfect & that we got to see all the hidden little gems that she had found over the many years they had spent exploring this region they are so passionate about. The food – well what can I say!! It’s a foodies heaven with George & Teresa taking us to all the best places to eat. As a couple they are genuinely warm, friendly, caring & great company. For anyone wanting to experience the ‘Real Greece’ that most tourists don’t get to see I would totally recommend touring with the ‘Road Less Travelled Tours’. Loved everything about it… It was the trip of a lifetime!!

“The Road Less Travelled was nothing short of fantastic. They took us to places we didn’t know of, or had even thought of.”
This is definitely ‘the road less travelled’.
We toured around just a relatively small part of a country which we thought we knew, however every day was a surprise in so many ways, whether it was the magnificent scenery or unique experiences, the to-die- for meals or one-of-a-kind boutique accommodation. A holiday that will long be remembered, due in no small part to George & Teresa’s passionate local knowledge. We thoroughly enjoyed and recommend this amazing tour.

If there’s one trip that should be on your bucket list, it’s definitely this one. The unique experience is unforgettable due to the incredible guidance from your host George & Teresa. You can’t help but be absorbed by the true Greek experience. Whether it’s the quiet picturesque villages you visit or the amazing variety of local produce. Every location will surprise you with its beauty and warm reception. It truly is a road less travelled, a journey which you won’t regret!!!
We can’t wait to do it again in the future.

“Loved everything about it… It was the trip of a lifetime!! ”
After a fantastic tour in August 2017 and interest from our friends in joining us on another tour we decided
to join The Road Less Travelled on a 2018 tour. There were 6 of us friends on an initial 7 night sailing tour of Paxos and Anti Paxos departing from the wonderful port of Corfu. We all had an absolutely fantastic time with our wonderful hosts George and Teresa. The catamaran was perfect for our group of 8 and each couple had an en-suite cabin.
George’s local knowledge and being fluent in the language is a huge advantage and Teresa is a wonderful hostess, always looking out for her guests comfort. We stayed in some amazing ports, enjoyed local food, saw spectacular beaches and had a truly fantastic time. Four of us continued on with George and Teresa for a slightly scaled down 10 day land tour. The transport, accommodation, historical sites and activities we enjoyed were truly wonderful. We visited unspoiled beaches, wineries, ancient sites and ate in some amazing local restaurants. Once again our hosts local knowledge and contacts smoothed the way. We highly recommend joining one of their small group tours for an experience you won’t forget and will want to repeat.

Thanks to George and Teresa for a fantastic insight into the real Greece. The tour had a rich mix of historical sights, beautiful scenery, delicious food and memorable moments.George incorporated a personal touch of his family’s history and village origins, and along with Teresa they added an enjoyable variety of sights including aspects of both the mountains and the sea of the Peloponnese.
George and Teresa were a pleasure as hosts even when we were sick and had a family tragedy occur back at home while on the tour.
We would love to go back and immerse in the experience again any day.

2017
Our tour of the Peloponnese in August 2017 showed us the best keep secrets of Greece. George and Teresa’s careful planning meant that every step of the journey was purposeful but never tiring and gave us a broad scope and appreciation that most people don’t have on their visit to this amazing country.

We just have to say...our trip with The Road Less Travelled was nothing short of fantastic. They took us to places we didn't know of, or had even thought of. George & Teresa were a delight. So nice to have their experience on our side. Teresa has a knack at finding great accommodations, and George knows the food. We couldn't be happier with the whole experience. Hope to do it again someday.

What an unforgettable and truly unique experience! We traveled throughout Greece with the Road Less Traveled team and saw an authentic side of Greece we would otherwise never have seen on our own. The tour took us to stunning locations rarely visited by non-locals, and the tour was incredibly well organised, ensuring our accomodation changes and travel time was always smooth and hassle-free. We will definitely be booking another adventure with the Road Less Traveled tours.

We toured Greece in August 2017 with The Road Less Travelled and would highly recommend George and Teresa’s small group travel service. Every detail was outlined to us via email in advance by Teresa and our personal preferences including dietary requirements were noted. All costs were fully advised so there were no surprises during the tour. We were taken to some amazing locations off the beaten track, which only those with local knowledge are aware of. After the group met up in Corfu (a group of mixed ages and nationalities) and got to know each other over a couple of days we boarded our catamaran sailing boat, met our captain and spent 7 amazing nights on board touring Paxos and Anti Paxos and once again with George’s local knowledge and speaking the language we were treated to some local activities and dining experiences that we would never have known about. These ranged from tucked away beach side tavernas to small family run restaurants in the ports we stopped at overnight and a roof top dining experience overlooking Corfu. The pace of the tour was good, and even though we were only overnight in some locations it whetted our appetite to return and investigate further. The structure of the tour allowed us to also have time on our own if desired however the group dynamics worked so well that we generally did most things as a group and thoroughly enjoyed doing so.
The second part of the package was a land tour. Having an interest in history we thoroughly enjoyed the ancient locations and ruins we visited and George’s knowledge of the local area once again shone through. We finished off with 4 nights relaxing on the beach and enjoying the local restaurants in the village that George’s family originate from. We then had a 1 hour return train journey direct to Athens where we spent our last night prior to flying out for home. Our tour was 2 1/2 weeks duration and we so enjoyed it that we are planning on joining George and Teresa again to tour other regions.
